Each player may keep only three marks. A fourth move removes that player's oldest mark.

Player X starts. Players take turns placing marks in empty cells. Each player can have a maximum of three marks on the board. When a player places a fourth mark, their oldest mark is removed. The first player to form a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line wins.
